Because two Doctors just isn't enough, apparently. After defending time and space from the universe's most formidable foes alongside Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant (who is also one of her nearest and dearest), Billie has continued her liaisons with our beloved hero off screen, too, as she's formed a close knit friendship with the real life alter ego of his eleventh incarnation, otherwise known as Mr Matt Smith. At one point it was reported that they were even more than friends, but we're not one to start rumours. They've been spotted hanging out in the past and, much to the delight of their respective fans, they've also had various opportunities to mix their business with pleasure, too. They were first seen together in the BBC's adaptations of The Ruby in the Smoke (2006) and The Shadow in the North (2007), in which Billie played leading lady Sally Lockhart alongside Matt's loveable Cockney ragamuffin Jim Taylor, before the the future Time Lord appeared as one of Billie's clients in Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Most recently, of course, they both starred in the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, although their respective characters unfortunately never met each other on screen. Thank God for fan fiction. What did you think of this list? Are there any other little known facts about Billie Piper? Join the conversation in the comments section below.
