After establishing herself as one of the most popular and versatile actresses in the UK, Billie already had an abundance of high profile roles lined up when she left the world of Doctor Who behind her. One of them in particular would have a profound effect on her personal life as it introduced her to fellow actor, and her future husband, Laurence Fox. They treaded the boards together in a 2007 West End production of Treats, based on Ibsen's A Doll's House, in which Billie portrayed Ann - a performance which won her a nomination for Best Actress at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards - alongside Laurence in the role of her lover, Patrick. Their sizzling chemistry continued off the stage, too, as they tied the knot at the end of that same year and they've since settled down and started a family of their own. Their first son, Winston James, was born in October 2008 and their second, Eugene Pip, arrived in April 2012. They're certainly harbouring good genes, what with both of their parents being actors, and they're seemingly destined for greatness as Fox's uncles are Edward Fox and Robert Fox (actor and film producer, respectively) and he's cousins with British stars Emilia Fox and Freddie Fox, the latter of whom has just appeared in Channel 4's Cucumber which was created and written by Doctor Who's former showrunner, Russell T Davies. It certainly runs in the family, then. They're gonna be just fine!
