6. She Used To Be A Pop Sensation...
She hasn't always been an actress, you know. Billie's initial claim to fame was actually in a different industry altogether when her life escalated
very quickly after she was picked, aged 15, to appear in a Smash Hits commercial which got her noticed by a music manager (no, it wasn't Simon Cowell) who subsequently offered her a record deal. We've all been there. And guess what? She was pretty good, too. At least, if you like that sort of thing. The world of pop is an acquired taste and Billie has since confessed that even she was never really a huge fan of it herself. Can you really blame her? She gave it a good go, though, before eventually deciding to call it a day in 2003 when she realised that being a pop sensation just wasn't the life for her after all. As such, she likes to pretend that none of it ever happened these days -
*ahem* - but, in her defence, she
did manage to leave her mark on pop history (even if it did involve
prancing around a stage whilst miming and wearing a corset), which is still something to be... erm, proud of? Speaking of which...
