8. He Described The Scripts For Daredevil As "The Best" He'd Ever Read... And That's Why He Agreed To Portray Matt Murdock
Marvel's Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada pinpointed Cox as the man to play Daredevil in the Netflix series as far back as 2012, but the actor himself was not immediately convinced about taking up the role. At the time, 20th Century Fox still held the rights for the Daredevil character, and Cox was focused on other ventures - but he did not hesitate in assuming the role of Matt Murdock once he read the script for the first two episodes. After being sent the scripts for the first two episodes of the Netflix series in early 2014, Cox rang up his agent and explained: "These are two of the best TV scripts I've read." A man who began his career in British television before pursuing film ventures, Cox is passionate about undertaking roles he truly believes in - and Matt Murdock proved to be one of those.
