10 Things You Didn't Know About Sarah Wayne Callies
6. She Was Written Out Of Prison Break - Then Written Back In
Dr. Sara Tancredi's resurrection is one of the great modern-day TV miracles. Prison Break writers, the network, the fans and Callies herself all wanted Tancredi to live on, though contract problems saw her written out of the script and out of the show altogether. Stand-ins and old set photos of Callies were used to show her being held captive, before her character's death was confirmed after her kidnappers executed Tancredi and sent her head in a box to main man Michael Scofield. The ending seemed final for Callies, though after numerous fan demands and tense talks between the actress and producers, a deal was struck for her to return as a series regular for the final season. She wasn't killed on-screen, and although the head was intended to be hers when the episode aired, it was revealed that the head did in fact belong to another woman held captive by the antagonists.
