The Blackfish vanished after the Red Wedding and while many wrote off or simply forgot that his character existed, he's set for a return in Season 6, with a book storyline finally set to take place in the show.
A major character will swing by Riverrun during the upcoming episodes, though it remains to be seen whether the book storyline will be fully translated onto the screen or whether it will only be used as inspiration.
Either way, Blackfish is returning and he's got to play some sort of vital role, otherwise his comeback would be pointless. Edmure Tully will also reappear after imprisonment following HIS Red Wedding trauma.
