Noah left his mark in his few previous Daily Show appearances by comparing the state of race relationships and poverty in his native country to the plight of many inner city areas in the US. He's a comedian who's used to poking fun at serious issues one of his first stand up shows in South Africa was called That's Racist and he's ruffled a few feathers in his time. One of the biggest stories from South Africa in recent years was the trial of Oscar Pistorius, the paralympic sprinter who managed to get away with a surprisingly light sentence for murdering his girlfriend. So it goes. Noah commented on the initial arrest of Pistorius on Twitter by writing And the Oscar goes to Jail. Which was not taking especially well, with life style show host Janez Vermeiren responding c'mon you are more than talented and have enough followers, you don't need to seek attention like this! The Daily Show is a show that blossoms the most when it goes after sensitive targets and reveals the hypocrisy of politicians, other news programmes and the media at large. The Pistorius trial turned into a media circus of the highest order, and Noah was aware that would happen before it did that's the sort of sharp, daring mind you want fronting such a show.
