In Season 2 Episode 11, The Motel Guest, Alexis and David begin having reservations about staying at the motel, encouraging them to look for a new home. While the real estate agent shows them an apartment, he mentions how the ceiling fan was replaced since the previous owner used it to hang himself.

Despite the fact this person's name isn't mentioned, a couple of attentive viewers deduced his identity. The previous owner was Bob Currie's brother - Carl.

In Season 1 Episode 9, Carl's Funeral, Johnny Rose is asked to act as a pallbearer for Carl Currie even though he didn't know him at all. When Johnny questions how poor Carl died, Bob says his brother accidentally strangled himself while trying to unhook his belt from a ceiling fan. Although Johnny immediately realises Carl took his own life, Bob is blatantly in denial, claiming it was a freak accident.

Even though it's not directly stated that Carl is the one who died in the apartment which Alexis and David looked at, it's not too hard to put two and two together.
