We are first introduced to Linda’s oddball sister in the season one episode Art Crawl, where she has created dozens of paintings for the local art crawl, and has displayed them publicly in Bob’s restaurant. They all have the central theme of being images of animal anuses, much to the horror of Bob.

The style of Gayle’s “animal anus” paintings are actually consistent with the works done by Salvador Dali and the Surrealist art movement. Notice also how the burger of the day is called Salvador Cauliflower Burger.

The episode makes a couple of other references to famous artists - the other burger of the day is called Poblano Picasso Burger, and Louise's idea of cutting off someone's ear to be a true artist is a nod to Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh who cut off his own left ear.
