10 Things You Somehow Missed In The Office

6. A Slightly Dated Flag

Schrute Farms was never exactly a place for adhering to 21st century civilization. Completely wireless now that Mose has hidden all the wires and featuring an outhouse that wouldn't look out of place in the Dark Ages, the ancestral Schrute home is a place frozen in time.

One doesn't even need to enter the property for this to be evident. Taking a closer look at the flag flying proudly over the farm's porch, it becomes clear that this is a state of affairs that also extends to the physical objects around the 60 acre property.

It's definitely the American flag alright - featuring the usual array of stars, stripes and red, white and blue colors. However, look a little closer and it becomes apparent that the flag only has fifteen stars. Funnily enough, this happens to be the exact amount of stars that were on the American flag at the time of Schrute Farms' construction, all the way back in the 1800s. Who says one can't throw a historical Easter Egg into a comedy show about a paper company?

Inaccurate it may be, but you try explaining to Dwight that Arizona is a state now. That's an argument you already know you won't win.
