3. Jim/John's Signature Gaffe
A signature is clearly a difficult habit to shake, even when one is in character on a television show.
Season Four begins with Fun Run - a charity race based attempt by Michael to make amends with Meredith after he runs her over with his car and breaks her pelvis. Once she's back on her feet, Launch Party sees Meredith duly rock up at the office with a ludicrous pelvic cast - which she asks the horrified Jim to sign after yanking up her dress without batting an eyelid.
Considering that Jim's mind was essentially frozen in horror at the time of signing, it's entirely fair enough that the man portraying him made the error that he did. It is likely that few people were too busy howling with laughter at Mr Halpert's uncomfortable expression to actually be paying attention to what he was writing, but look a little closer and one can see that Mr Halpert actually signs as "John Krasinski".
Whether this was a legitimate gaffe by Krasinski or a sly wink to the audience has yet to be confirmed to this day, but given The Office's long running habit of such behavior, this writer's money is on the latter.
