(“Escape from LA” – Season 2, Episode 11)

BoJack as a person tends to destroy each and every relationship that he builds for himself over the course of the series. Some violently, some sexually and some just downright despicably.

After leaving Los Angeles to visit an old friend named Charlotte, the ex-girlfriend to his long-time friend Herb Kazzaz (who he subconsciously deems “the one who got away”) BoJack is surprised to find that she now has a family, consisting of a husband and two children.

Originally shocked by this, he tries to flee earlier than expected but eventually grows to become like one of the family in his own respects. This is until he is rejected by Charlotte after making an advance towards her.

To say sorry, BoJack takes Penny (the daughter of Charlotte) to her high school prom. There are a few things that make our emotions twist and turn between turmoil and tension along the way, but it isn’t until we are enlightened as to what may have occurred if Charlotte hadn't opened the door to BoJack's driveway abode when she did.

She walks in on a moment that would have scarred her daughter indefinitely. With the irredeemable look of guilt on his face, opposing that of an anger-induced mother, BoJack revels in his misery as Charlotte stares him dead in the eye and iterates; “If you ever come near my family again, I will f*****g kill you”
