10 Times Doctor Who Was More Like Fifty Shades Of Grey

9. Kane's Coin

50 Shades revolves around Christian Grey trying to get Anastasia Steele to sign a contract to agree to BDSM - a binding agreement, if you will. Doctor Who is full of people making agreements to things they'll later regret but none reflect 50 Shades better than villain Kane's methods in Dragonfire.

In this Season 24 closer, the frosty ruler of Iceworld (the Farm Foods of deep space) had a unique way of getting the ladies to agree to do his bidding though, unlike Christian Grey's unoriginal contract idea, he had a much more novel approach - a frozen coin that would sear its mark into the palm of the person who took it. Makes 50 Shades look a little quaint, doesn't it?

In Dragonfire, Ace plays the part of the potential submissive, though as she liked nothing more than blowing up things, pouring milkshakes over customers and calling people 'bog-breath', this was never really going to work, was it?
