10 Times Family Guy Blew It

9. The Simpsons Guy Crossover

You know what? We were really looking forward to The Simpsons/Family Guy crossover. Sadly, it wasn't very funny. The main problem? The crossover was written solely by a Family Guy writer, and lacked most of The Simpsons usual charm. It was The Simpsons with amped up crudity, and while some scenes worked, most dragged on (did the Homer vs. Peter "chicken fight" need to be that long?). Jokes fell flat, Lisa and Meg of all people had the most compelling storyline, the episode dragged due to its hour-long run time, and in the end, the highlight of the episode was an appearance by Fred Flintstone, in a well-placed joke pointing out that for all the debate, both The Simpsons and Family Guy are just rip-offs of The Flintstones anyway. What a blown opportunity.
