8. Having No Replacement For "Laugh It Up, Fuzzball" (The Star Wars Parody Trilogy)
"Blue Harvest" - the Family Guy spoof of the first (by that we mean original) Star Wars movie was probably Family Guy at its peak. The two that followed (spoofs of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi), "Something, Something, Something, Dark Side" and "It's A Trap!" were pretty solid as well. And then - nothing. Okay, the prequel trilogy was already a parody of the franchise itself (there's no saving it), but what about Star Trek, or another franchise? The entire cast of Star Trek: TNG has actually appeared on Family Guy. and Patrick Stewart is a regular collaborator with Seth MacFarlane, but it seems the show just really dropped the ball on that possibility. Think the Star Trek films aren't iconic enough? Outside Khan you might have a point, so fine. Consider that Indiana Jones was considered for a while. That franchise would have been the perfect replacement for the Star Wars series. Family Guy, you really blew your chance on that one!
