10 Times Futurama Made NO Sense
8. Bender's Family
The evolution of Bender isn't the only problematic aspect of the robot's existence. His history from before Fry came to the future has been shown to have many inconsistencies throughout the series.
It is established in 'Bendless Love' that Bender was built four years prior, with a flashback showing him being created as he is now, completely the opposite of the baby Bender we see in 'Lethal Inspection'. Even if Bender's flashback wasn't entirely accurate, Hermes is clearly more than four years younger when he approved the robot's production.
The one consistency from Bender's creation is that he was built, and as established in 'Mother's Day' sees Mom as his own mom, as do all robots on Earth. This does raise the question of Bender's family however. If Mom is the mother of all robots, how does he have an Aunt Rita or an Uncle Vladimir?
In 'Xmas Story', Bender does seem to class the robotic arm that put him together as his mother, but even if this is the case, how could she have a sister that is a screw for Bender to call his aunt? How on Earth do robot families work?
