10 Times Star Trek Reused Props To Cut Corners

3. Expensive But Broken Wheelchairs

While this list could easily now be titled 'Curios From Too Short A Season,' another item from the episode makes an appearance here. Admiral Mark Jamison's state-of-the-art wheelchair was an absolute nightmare during filming, which cost the production team $10,000 and a lot of stress. However, it did save them a few quid when it came to the end of the season.

Removing the front panel, they used it for Commander Remmick's command chair in Conspiracy. To this day, there was no reason for this room to exist in Starfleet Command, other than the fact that Remmick needed to have a slow pivot and reveal. This is not a complaint mind, it was a scene that was very evocative of any Bond villain reveal.

The chair was quite distinctive, particularly with the wooden panel that ran from the front, up around the edges, and connected at the back. It was a learning curve for the team. When the Deep Space Nine episode Melora was in production, the team opted for a much more straightforward chair, making it far easier to manage in each scene.
