10 Times The Lucifer Show Referenced The Comics (And 10 Ways It Totally Ignored Them)
7. Marcus Pierce (Ignores The Comics)
Season three introduced audiences to Cain, AKA Marcus Pierce, AKA The Sinnerman, and while Lucifer did come face to face with Cain at one point in the comics, it was absolutely nothing like what we saw in the show.
In Neil Gaiman's legendary Sandman series, Dream of The Endless sends Cain (who has no alter ego) as his emissary to Hell, since Yahweh's mark is branded on him to keep him safe - an effort that simply made Lucifer laugh as he carried Cain around by his hair.
In the TV series, Cain was unquestionably portrayed as being a more commanding and intimidating presence than Lucifer himself, while in the comics, Dream was worried the trip to Hell would kill anyone other than Cain, who only survived due to Yahweh's protection... and while he did make it back in one piece, Cain was clearly traumatized by simply being in Lucifer's vicinity.
