10 Times The Lucifer Show Referenced The Comics (And 10 Ways It Totally Ignored Them)
4. Chloe's Angelic Origins (Easter Egg)
While Chloe doesn't exist at all in the comics, the TV character does seem to be a stand-in for a major comic character; Elaine Belloc.
In the comics, Elaine is the daughter of Michael Demiurgos, and was conceived when another angel - Sandalphon - used the demiurgic power vested in Michael to "quicken" a human womb. Sandalphon then transplanted the angel-human hybrid fetus into Michael's body for incubation, and eventually back into a human before birth.
Chloe's conception and birth in the show is significantly different, but bears some clear similarities to Elaine's comic origins. When Penelope and John Decker tried conceiving a child, they were never able to, until Amenadiel - who takes Michael's place in many ways for the show - carried out a totally unprecedented order from Yahweh, blessing Penelope, making her capable of conceiving Chloe.
While Chloe never inherited the Demiurge or took Yahweh's place as God, like Elaine did, she does obviously have a destiny that's intrinsically intertwined with Lucifer's, not unlike Elaine's path in the comics.
