10 Times The Lucifer Show Referenced The Comics (And 10 Ways It Totally Ignored Them)

16. Trixie's Reading Material (Easter Eggs)

These may not count as references to the source material, exactly, but there are a few references to other material from the creators of both the Lucifer character, and the TV series.

In the episode Et Tu, Doctor?, Chloe asks Dan, "She conned you into reading the book about the sneezing panda, didn't she?" This is a clear reference to Chu's Day, a children's book by Neil Gaiman, who also created Lucifer.

Later, in the second season's Weaponizer episode, Chloe is seen reading another Gaiman book, Coraline, to Trixie.

At the start of the fourth season, Joe Henderson, one of Lucifer's showrunners, also got one of his own comics -Skyward - in the show, with a shot of Trixie reading an issue in the police station.

Needless to say, Trixie has excellent taste in reading material.

It's also worth noting that Trixie's name - Beatrice - may be an allusion to Beatrice Wechsler, a Lux employee who fell in love with Mazikeen in the comics... though the two characters sharing a first name could also just be a coincidence.
