10 Times The Walking Dead Was The Dumbest Show On TV

2. Dale's Death

There's so much to pick apart here. Dale had been suitably buttered up to get eaten by a walker throughout much of Season 2. He'd already uttered the lines 'this isn't the kind of world I want to live in', so what did he expect, really? He was also being pushed out by the equally sage Herschel, and in this ageist society of ours, having one person over 50 more than fulfils the season quota, thank you very much. Then there was the zombie itself: the same one that would tear Dale limb from limb had taken down a cow just moments earlier, yet couldn't hold onto Carl when he came across it in the swamp. It seems this particular walker is kinder to children than fully grown men or large cattle. And why didn't Dale think to take his gun out when he saw a cow had been ripped to shreds on the supposedly safe farm? Instead he looked genuinely confused, like he'd forgotten the dead had come back to life and started unceremoniously eating everything. If you're walking around alone in the dark, you'd think you'd allow at least enough natural light to spot a single, groaning, lumbering walker or maybe save that walk for the morning! Anyway Dale's dead now. One can only presume the writers had something against the actor who played him because he was getting killed off no matter what situation he was in judging from this scene.
