10 Times The Walking Dead Was The Dumbest Show On TV

4. Glenn Covered By Walkers Then Absolutely Fine In Next Scene

This is something which happens time and time again on the show and is a sign of laziness from either the writer or director. Sometimes, as you would expect from a show with zombies, the good guy gets surrounded. Now, the good guy can't just get eaten every time this happens. You can't blame the show for ramping up the tension and having the good guy escape. However, what the show can be blamed for is creating impossible situations for main characters to escape from only to cut away and return to them having escaped later. This is an obvious sign of trying to manipulate the audience to get a gasp of surprise out of them without really earning it. Eventually the audience will get wise to it, so it needs to stop soon. The best example of such a trick can probably be found in the final episode of Season 5. Glenn and Nicholas fight, and the latter leaves Glenn on his back, fending off half a dozen zombies at once. Pinned to the ground, it's almost impossible to imagine how Glenn could have escaped, so naturally the camera cuts away and he shows up fine later. There was no explanation, just some cheap tension wrung from the audience. This is just one example of when the writer and director on the show has resorted to this kind of thing.
