10 Transformers Who SWITCHED SIDES

5. Dreadwing (Prime)

Dreadwing was captain of a seeker army, and incredibly loyal follower to Megatron, and, above all, an honourable Decepticon.

Throughout the show, he and Prime earned the respect of one another, despite Dreadwing fully intending to kill him when he got the chance. Yet Prime believed that Dreadwing could be an invaluable Autobot if only he put his loyalties in someone as honourable as himself.

Yet, Dreadwing remained by Megatron's side, no matter how many times he witnessed Megatron break his word and act without honour. The turning point came when he discovered what had happened to his brother Skyquake. In a failed attempt to harness Dark Energon, Starscream had condemned Skyquake to an eternity as an undead Terrorcon - just like Cliffjumper. With the revelation that Megatron had allowed his brother's killer to remain in their ranks, Dreadwing decided that enough was enough.

Disillusioned with the Decepticons, he briefly aided the Autobots before confronting Starscream. Sadly, Megatron chose to save Starscream and cut down Dreadwing before he could avenge his brother.

Dredwing would have made an excellent full time Autobot, had the showrunners permitted him to live but a little longer.
