10 TV Characters That Disappeared Without A Trace

7. Sugar Motta - Glee

Friends Ben
Fox

This one is a weird case. Sugar Motta was never a main character on Glee, she never managed to snag a coveted solo within the New Directions, and she was constantly on the outside of all the action. Nevertheless, when she was in a scene, she completely stole it.

Sugar was a self-diagnosed sufferer of Asperger's Syndrome, which was her way of getting away with saying whatever she wanted. Sugar was rude, loud, completely tone deaf and untalented - but you just had to love her.

Which is why it was so noticeable when Sugar started disappearing for weeks on end without anyone making any mention to it. This may not seem strange to many of you - after all, people come and go out of each others lives all the time - but considering Sugar was a student at McKinley High, you'd think her disappearances would warrant some kind of investigation.

But alas, the writers behind the scenes clearly didn't think through the idea of a High School aged child repeatedly going missing.

The fact of the matter is that the writers got themselves into a bind when stating that they need 12 performers for every competition. 12 characters on a series doesn't sound like a lot, but then when you add in teachers, antagonists, family members etc, the show becomes completely oversaturated with people.

Still, when Sugar completely disappeared half way through her senior year, not to be seen again until the season 6 wedding episode, people were even more confused. The episode would have been a great opportunity to explain her absence (perhaps she moved across country or something), but the writers neglected to come up with any explanation!

Lily thought it was about time she wrote Top Ten lists for people other than herself. She also owes her dog a lot of money so she thought it was about time to pay her dues. There is no tv show she likes that she hasn't seen at least twice.
