10 TV Characters They Couldn't Stop Recasting

5. Jedidiah Lawrence - Boy Meets World

Topanga's (Danielle Fishel) parents endured some major personnel changes throughout Boy Meets World's seven seasons - especially Topanga's dad Jedediah.

Peter Tork - best known as the keyboardist and bass guitarist of The Monkees - played Jed for two episodes in the second and third seasons, before the legendary Michael McKean replaced him for a single season six episode, and Mark Harelik then took the reins for three episodes in the seventh and final season.

Additionally, Jed's wife Rhiannon was also recast, having been initially played by Annette O'Toole - opposite her real-life husband McKean, funnily enough - before Marcia Cross took over for season seven.

Now to be fair, Topanga's parents are hardly major characters in the scope of the show's seven seasons and 158 episodes, but it's nevertheless pretty amusing how little effort was made to bring in actors who even faintly resembled the previous Jed.
