10 TV Characters Viewers Completely Changed Their Mind About

1. Theon Greyjoy / Reek - Game of Thrones (TV Version)

For all intents and purposes, Theon Greyjoy is no more. In his stead, we find Reek, the castrated, near-mute servant and shell-shocked torture victim of Roose Bolton's bastard Ramsay Snow. Greyjoy certainly was no saint, but for television audiences unfamiliar with the character's novelised fate, seeing how far he had fallen packed a devastating blow. Introduced to viewers as arrogant and impulsive, but ultimately good, Theon's reactionary nature and violent tendencies begin to overshadow his friendship and alliance with Robb Stark. As his arrogant need for recognition and belonging increase, so do his sins. He betrays his best friend, ties himself to his estranged father and begins his descent into complete and utter tool-dom. His bungled taking of Winterfell and the staged "murder" of the remaining Stark boys seal his fate. His outnumbered men, having no respect for their leader and simply wanting to go home, betray him and turn him over to Ramsay Snow. They're flayed in short order, but that's no consolation to the Ironborn heir. The torture he suffers at the hands of Snow in immeasurable, and all sense of his former hubris and humanity are stripped away. He is at this point little more than a de-clawed, defeated pet. And as such, Ramsay renames his new pet Reek, after the stench now attached to the former "Prince of Winterfell". It's one hell of a descent from the cocky, strutting Theon of before. This is certainly not a comprehensive list, though. What are other characters audiences changed their mind about? Let us know in the comments below.
