Presumed dead in season 9 of The Walking Dead before being shown to still be alive thanks to Anna and the CRM, Rick Grimes was the central figure in AMC’s The Walking Dead before his role came to an end on the show. Over the course of his appearances on the show, Andrew Lincoln made the former Sheriff’s Deputy his own and perfectly expressed his flawed leader role in the show. It has been confirmed that his character will feature in three Walking Dead movies, however it has also been confirmed that these movies have since been delayed.

With the primary series The Walking Dead coming to a close with the Season 11 finale and a horde of spinoffs either already on air or in production, then it's possible there could still be some kind of appearance from Rick Grimes on the small screen before his big movie appearance. With the viewership declining since the character's departure, it could be a worthwhile shot in the arm that the series needs before its conclusion.
