10 TV Characters Who Got Undeservedly Brutal Deaths

6. Brian Griffin - Family Guy

Method Of Death

Hit by a car.

Why It Was Undeserved

The Griffin family's loveable, pretentious talking canine Brian (Seth MacFarlane) died totally out of nowhere back in Family Guy's twelfth season, being mortally wounded by a hit-and-run driver and later dying at the veterinary clinic.

It was an unexpectedly emotional moment in a show hardly known for prying tears from its audience, and given that to many fans he was the show's best character, killing him off was both ballsy and infuriating.

Petitions quickly sprung up online demanding that Brian's life be saved, and of course, that was always part of the plan, as two episodes later, Brian is brought back to life thanks to Stewie's (Seth MacFarlane) time travel shenanigans.

The fact that MacFarlane only kept Brian dead for two episodes speaks volumes about how beloved he is by fans, and also how utterly undeserving he was of such a random, pointless death.
