Judging by the trailers for DC's Legends of Tomorrow's upcoming fifth season, Ray Palmer looks like he may well just make it out of Crisis on Infinite Earths in one piece.
Brandon Routh's Superman may have sadly fallen in the wake of the Anti-Monitor and his crazed scheme, yet Routh's Atom is in far better health. Well, for now, at least. By the time 2020 is out, it seems only inevitable that Ray Palmer will be killed off.
Each season, Legends has made a habit of having a major shock hit the titular ragtag team of heroes and rock them to their core. Season 4 of the series ended with Zari Tomaz being wiped out of existence and replaced by her deceased brother, Behrad, and the shocker of the show's fifth year could well be the death of Ray.
Having debuted during Arrow's third season, Routh's Palmer has made more appearances than any other Legend bar Caity Lotz's Sara Lance. And with Brandon Routh already confirmed to be departing DC's Legends of Tomorrow during or after Season 5, all signs point to Ray Palmer going down in an emotional blaze of glory that will hit the Legends hard.
