10 TV Douche-Bags Who Get Away With Everything

9. Jerry Mouse- Tom and Jerry

Tom And Jerry 2

Imagine you came home one day to find an unwelcome visitor living in your house, stealing your food and being a general nuisance every day of their indefinite stay. In real life terms, that person would be a bonafide douche-bag. If you take that same situation, animate it and throw in a bit of slapstick humour for good measure, it instantly becomes cartoon gold. Life isn't easy for Tom. When he isn't being maimed, tricked or humiliated by Jerry, he's getting chastised by his master for failing to deal with their rodent infestation- all to the sound of our raucous laughter at his misfortune. At first glance it seems more appropriate to paint him, the loathsome cat who invents dastardly plans to capture the sweet and loveable Jerry as the douche-bag when he's actually just trying to protect his home and heavy-set owner from that pesky intruder who makes their lives a perpetual misery. More often than not, Jerry is the aggressor in this particularly one-sided game of cat and mouse. He's like that annoying house mate we all suffer at some point; it's all roses to begin with, until their habits grate on us to the point where we too would go to extreme lengths to be rid of them. Try as he might, Jerry is always two steps ahead of Tom and manages to evade his traps whilst using knives, firearms and even Spike the Bulldog to exact his own bit of cruel science on the feline. Once, Just once I wanted to see Tom finally catch his prey. There are a few times when he does exactly that, only to lose him to a slip of the finger or a startling crisis of conscience. Yes, Jerry by all accounts is an annoying douche-bag, but when push comes to shove he's one half of a legendary duo that neither we nor Tom could do without.
