10 TV Episodes You Didn't Know Were Filmed By Famous Hollywood Directors

1. Amazing Stories €“ Martin Scorsese

Episode: "Mirror, Mirror" You thought I was going to go with Boardwalk Empire, didn't you? Well, if you didn't know that, you should slide out from under that rock and get some sun every now and then. What the legendary Martin Scorsese is much less known for is for directing an episode of the fantasy/sci-fi anthology series created by Steven Spielberg in the 1980s. The series seems to have faded from the popular imagination, but it was nominated twelve times for the Emmys, and won five times. Scorsese's episode, "Mirror, Mirror," is centered on horror novelist Jordan Manmoth, who mistreats an adoring fan after appearing on The Dick Cavett Show. Soon he begins to see a ghostly figure slowly approaching in every mirror and reflective surface he sees, (a ghost who looks suspiciously like Tim Robbins), but who is invisible to everyone else who looks in the mirror. Is it dated? Yes, don't hold that against Scorsese, it was 80s TV. What of that isn't dated?
