10 TV Friendships That Wouldn't Work In Real Life
6. Sid Jenkins And Tony Stonem (Skins UK)
The hit British teen drama which focuses on three different sets of characters throughout the seven season run has many problematic friendships but the most obvious one has to be Sid Jenkins and Tony Stonem from Generation 1.
The first season starts with Tony established as a sociopath in the making, playing games with his friends and family for his own amusement, Sid being no exception. Tony is well aware of Sid's feelings for Tony's girlfriend Michelle and uses that to toy with him. Sid, the 'nice guy' stereotypical virgin with no backbone, tolerates this behaviour.
Then all tables are flipped when in the end of Season 1 Tony gets hit by a bus which physically and mentally impairs him. Sid doesn't offer support during such a difficult time, and to make matters worse, he starts sleeping with Michelle behind Tony's back and then blames his actions on his father's death.
The boys end their run in the series on a seemingly good note despite all that, with Tony on the way to becoming a better person and Sid realising Cassie is the one he wants to be with. Considering the characters didn't come back in the later seasons, we're meant to believe they stayed friends. How likely that is in real life is questionable.
