10 TV Friendships That Wouldn't Work In Real Life
5. Brooke Davis And Peyton Sawyer (One Tree Hill)
Another set of childhood friends from a teen drama which aired from 2003 to 2012, Brooke and Peyton have often been called the heart of the show up until Hilary Burton's departure at the end of Season 6. They're shown to help each other multiple times, Peyton always talks about how Brooke was there for her after her mom's death, and they even move in together after the time jump in Season 5. All points to the perfect friendship, except one thing - and every One Tree Hill fan knows where this is going.
Lucas Scott. The guy with dreams and aspirations of his own who didn't mean to cause anyone any harm. Unfortunately, he managed to get in between the girls not once, but twice. When Peyton rejects him in Season 1 cause she's not ready to open herself up, Lucas gets with Brooke after seeing the deeper side of her. Only a few episodes later he and Peyton begin a secret affair which tears up the girls' friendship when Brooke finds out.
The girls manage to patch things up and when a season later Brooke realises she still wants to be with Lucas, Peyton is nothing but supportive of that. That is until the end of Season 3 where she confesses to Brooke she still has feelings for him which understandably causes her to flip out and end the friendship once again.
While being hurt over the situation, Brooke taunts Peyton about her mother, which she knows is her Achilles heel, and halfway through Season 4 it's revealed she slept with Nathan, Peyton's ex, all the way back when the two were having one of their many temporary break-ups. The girls manage to come out of this stronger - that is until Peyton leaves town never to be head from again (though that was down to Hilary Burton being exiled from the cast). Honestly, at this point Brooke is better off with Haley as her BFF.
