10 TV Posters You Won't Believe

3. Lots Of Leather, Lots Of Skin - Nikita

The CW strikes again with the sexualised marketing for the first season of their hit action thriller series Nikita.

Posters for the show featured lead actress Maggie Q kitted out in a skimpy leather outfit while holding a pair of guns and bearing her legs to the camera.

The image was primarily intended for a billboard campaign across America, though a number of locations opted not to run the ad due to its sexually enticing nature.

The CW responded by having a more toned-down poster made in which Maggie Q wore a long, red dress, but this was also rejected in many locations due to the amount of leg on display.

As much as the poster lets you know the basic gist of the show - sexy lady kills people - it's also easy to sneer at how insanely cynical it was of the network to produce a piece of marketing pandering so blatantly to the lowest common denominator.
