10 TV Romances That Made Us Feel Ill

9. Carrie & Brody - Homeland

Banner Carrie Brody This picture pretty much says it all. The idea sounds so romantic, doesn't it? Two star crossed lovers, one was a captive, one was partly responsible for his freedom. Super romantic. But then... it isn't. Instead of this beautiful affair, things get really ugly, really fast. The girl turns out to be a manic depressive with severe mental issues who has very bad choice of men. The guy turns out to be his own version of crazy, and a murderer to boot. And a liar. Oh, and did I mention he's married? Usually I wouldn't be such a prude, but his wife waited years for hi, and even though she did have a little side fling, she took care of their two kids alone. This is how a love affair (I doubt this is love, though) that sounds so thrilling becomes so abhorred. They are both severely f*cked up, and should not be together. Is it weird I'm really fascinated by how this will all turn out? A part of my thinks €“ maybe they're so warped they could be... good for each other in the long hall? Well, that's more a kudos to the writers for keeping things grey, instead of black and white. There's always a question, always something under the surface that could change everything at any time. Who knows, maybe it IS love?

Born in Israel, but raised partly in the UK, Shira is rather an odd duck. She will get in your face with her opinion, but will then be super polite to the waitress serving her a cocktail, no matter how bad the service is. Movies are her passion, along with good TV, music, and Shakespeare. She loves to sing and goes to karaoke a lot, too. She will do anything creative, and will resort to finger painting if necessary. Shira also, apparently, enjoys writing about herself in third person, which is weird. But she just finished her first Fantasy novel, and it's not about her, so that's ok. Shira is very glad to be a part of WhatCulture!
