10 TV Show Comic Spin-Offs That Are Surprisingly Awesome

8. Rick And Morty

Rick Morty Comic
Adult Swim

The previous shows listed use the comic book medium to give the fans huge events that could never be achieved on a TV show budget. But seeing as Rick and Morty is animated, it never really had that problem. So why did they make a Rick and Morty comic series? Probably because the fans couldn't get enough.

The first ten issues of the Rick and Morty comics focus on a different dimension, which allowed the writers to have some freedom without having to worry about contradicting the show.

The results of this are some great multi issues stories that wouldn't be out of place in the show itself. The story concludes with The Rickfinity Crisis, in which The Evil Morty aims to eradicate all Ricks from every dimension. Does he succeed? You'll have to read it to find out.

Despite having little input from the series creators, the Rick and Morty comics are adored by fans and critics alike. Running for sixty issues, having only just ended in March, this comic run could have easily been a cash grab, but instead is the perfect companion piece for the hit TV show.
