You has proven to be a huge success for Netflix as one of the streaming service's most talked about shows. In his performance as the compelling and creepy Joe Goldberg, Penn Badgley has proven his acting prowess beyond teen dramas.

Joe is by no means a character who the actor likes. Badgley elaborated on his feelings towards the character, noting:

"[...] all the reasons that I dislike him are all the reasons that I find it an interesting role, an interesting project. It’s not that I dislike him, it’s like, how do you feel like after you’ve worked out really hard? Sometimes, you feel great. Sometimes, you feel exhausted."

However, one scene is a front runner for Badgley's most hated. During the season one finale, the script called for Joe to masturbate outside Beck's apartment. The actor recalled:

"That’s what Joe was doing. That’s what I had to enact. I found myself surprisingly disgusted, like I did not want to do it. It’s funny, they wanted me to close my eyes and I remember being like, ‘No! Why?’ and they were like, ‘Coz it’s too creepy when you have your eyes open’ and I was like ‘What do you mean? What are we doing?’"
