10 TV Show Scenes Actors Hated Shooting

HBO's Big Little Lies (2017-2019) was a runaway success. Its international popularity was beneficial to all involved, racking up prestigious awards and nominations around the world. At the forefront of much of the show's praise was Nicole Kidman's performance as Celeste Wright.

Still, despite her triumph as an actor Kidman had such distain for one scene that it inflicted trauma on her.

Her affecting performance as a wife abused by her violent husband left Kidman emotionally exhausted. In between the violent scenes featuring her and on-screen husband Alexander Skarsgård, Kidman admitted she would spend time lying on the bathroom floor crying. In a 2017 interview with W Magazine, the Australian revealed the extent of her inner turmoil provoked by shooting scenes of domestic abuse:

"I felt very exposed and vulnerable and deeply humiliated at times [...] I remember lying on the floor in the bathroom [...] and I just wouldn't get up in-between takes. I was just lying there, sort of broken and crying, and I remember at one point Jean-Marc [Vallée] coming over and just sort of placing a towel over me because I was just lying there in half-torn underwear and just basically on the ground with nothing on[...]"
