10 TV Show Scenes Actors Hated Shooting
5. Ted Danson - The Good Place
The Good Place was a sitcom with a unique premise that proved to be a huge hit. Part of this was helped by the involvement of Ted Danson, a veteran of sitcoms from Cheers to Curb Your Enthusiasm. In The Good Place, he filled a role similar to what the team behind Community erroneously believed Chevy Chase could.
Danson shined in his role as Michael, the Bad Place architect in charge of the Good Place. In the season one finale, his reveal as a demon stealthily torturing the main cast is played perfectly. Though, season two brought a scene that tortured Danson.
Show creator Michael Schur, as a huge fan of Cheers, wanted Michael to pay homage to Danson's Cheers character Sam Malone. On his reacquaintance with the bar, Danson told Rolling Stone:
“My comfort level of playing Sam Malone was slow in coming […] So, whenever I have to go back to that after not having done it in so long — evenings where we’re raising money somewhere and they say, “Ted, get behind the bar!” — it panics me. I have it [...] So, I did not enjoy it. It made me sweat. It made me feel like I didn’t know what to do [...]”
