10 TV Show Scenes With INSANE Implications

4. Walt's Powers - Lost

Buffy The Vampire Slayer
ABC

Lost is admittedly a show that left a ton of plot threads dangling when it concluded, but perhaps the most bizarre and meaningful of the lot? Walt (Malcolm David Kelley) having powers.

In the first season episode "Special," it's suggested that Walt possesses the ability to manifest animals from his mind, with both a bird and a polar bear appearing basically out of nowhere.

Fans understandably expected this to have a serious payoff down the line, yet because Walt actor Malcolm David Kelley's appearance changed substantially during production - puberty being a thing and all - he was written out, due to the implausibility of his aging relative to Lost's compressed timeframe.

Beyond season two, Walt returned for just a few episodes, and fans never got to learn much more about his telepathic abilities, despite the initial suggestion that they would have a major impact on the plot.

And more to the point, if Walt is already this powerful at such a young age, what would his skill set look like as an adult in the world?
