The show follows the death of self-made business tycoon Stephen Richards and the all-out war that ensues amongst his children for control of his empire.
The show first dropped on Amazon Prime before being shown in the UK on ITVX at a later date. It did extremely well with many praising its addictive plots and focus on powerful Black characters.
Series creator Abby Ajayi gave a rather humble response when asked about the show's future at its premiere. “I hope it does incredibly well,” she said. “For ITVX, for us. I hope it’s a harbinger for the next season."
She also hinted at the next season of the show revealing more about the origins of the family, who are based in Britain but have Nigerian heritage.
With Riches being one of the most talked-about ITV shows in quite some time, expect Ajayi and co. to get plenty more chances to explore this intrguing premise.
