10 TV Shows From The '90s That Totally Overused The Word "Totally"
10. The Simpsons
Original Run: 1989 - Present. The Simpsons might be a dysfunctional and somewhat unconventional family who encounter hordes of extremely strange individuals in every single episode, but that doesn't mean that they and their co-stars never follow ridiculous trends. Bart and Lisa in particular regularly associate with douchey kids and, as a result, the word "totally" often crops up in conversations at school and when they're around the typical "cool" crowd who delusional think they're being awesome/rad/bodacious by saying it (although, equally inevitably, Homer has used the word a few times too, as he clearly wishes he was still "young and hip"). Like, Totally Examples:Erin: So, you like hanging out? Lisa: Well, it beats doin' stuff. Erin: Totally. Stuff sucks. Homer: These batteries have to power everything in our house *Homer inserts a Spice Girls tape* Homer: YO, I'll tell you what I want what I really really want what I want what I want I'll tell you what I want! *The batteries die* Homer: That was totally worth it.
