10 TV Shows People Need To Stop Sleeping On

9. The 100 (The CW)

Deadly Class
The CW

This may be another survival show, but The 100 is very different from Wrecked in the best ways. The 100 is a science fiction adventure that is set in the distant future. The Earth was destroyed in a nuclear apocalypse centuries ago, and the last of the human race are attempting to survive on a space station.

When air and food are beginning to grow scarce, the leaders of the Ark send one hundred of their delinquent teens to Earth to test if it is livable once more. As it turns out, not all of the population was saved before the bombs went off. Those left behind did not just survive, they thrived. A whole new world of civilizations and cultures was built in the ashes of what was once Earthly civilization. The show follows The Hundred as they navigate this new post-apocalyptic society.

Unlike most shows similar to this one, The 100 isn't about space battles or flashy technology. The show delves into the culture of New Earth in a way that shows its connections to our current culture. Though the first handful of episodes feel a bit soapy, give it time. As our characters become more accustomed to the world that surrounds them their problems become less about who is hooking up with who, and more about the ramifications of nuclear war and survival of the fittest.
