10 TV Shows That Accidentally Filmed Things You Weren't Supposed To See

7. John Types On A "Blog" That Is Actually Just A Still Image (Sherlock)

Sherlock Holmes and John Watson are one of the most intelligent duos in pop-culture, although if this moment is anything to go by, then John has got some serious learning to do when it comes to using his laptop.

In the opening scenes of the Series 4 premiere, Sherlock, John, and Mary are hanging out at 221B Baker Street, where John is updating his personal blog. We're shown a very clear shot of John typing up his latest post, but something we weren't supposed to see is the fact that his "blog" is actually just a still JPEG image, as evidenced by the heading "JOHN BLOG PAGE.jpg" in the top-left corner of the screen.

It's another example of the fake typing we see in so many movies and TV shows, made even more hilarious by the fact that actor Martin Freeman is literally just mashing keys in the Windows Photo app. At least he tried.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
