10 TV Shows That Are Returning Soon
6. The Good Doctor
Presumably traumatised by his experiences inside Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, Freddie Highmore decided to become an awkward but brilliant surgeon in The Good Doctor.
On our screens since 2017, the show is actually an adaptation of a South Korean programme with a similar name. That show was first noticed by Lost and Hawai'i Five-0 actor Daniel Dae Kim, who serves as an Executive Producer on the English language version.
The Good Doctor is back from 3 October for its sixth season, following on from Season 5's finale which saw Highmore's character, Dr. Shaun Murphy, get married and two characters get stabbed by a stalker.
Season 6 will also be used to set up a spin-off from the show called The Good Lawyer, which focus on a young lawyer (obviously) with OCD who is called upon to defend Dr. Murphy when he gets into legal hot water.
This show doesn't expand much on the medical drama format - its showrunner is the guy behind House, which should tell you all you need to know - but Highmore gives a good central performance and hopefully the cliffhanger of Season 5 will be satisfyingly solved.
