10 TV Shows That Cruelly Teased What We Really Wanted To See
2. Jason Voorhees Making An Appearance - Supernatural
As Supernatural was entering its third season, the writers behind the show had one hell of a surprise up their sleeves. So, excited about this jaw-dropping special appearance in the episode entitled "Dream a Little Dream of Me", series creator Eric Kripke let slip beforehand that none other than Jason Voorhees himself, of Friday the 13th fame, would be involved in proceedings.
However, just days before shooting the highly anticipated cameo, and despite being given the green light by Warner Bros., Kripke was told that he would not be allowed to use Jason in the show. This was due to the show not obtaining all the permissions necessary to legally use the character, with producer Sean S. Cunningham and Paramount both still retaining certain rights to Jason and the Friday the 13th names.
So, in the end, after being teased with the concept of the Winchester brothers coming up against one of horror's most iconic faces, we were instead left with a Jason-less episode and a feeling of "What if?"
