Speaking of ABC cancelling sitcoms, Last Man Standing is another show that didn't make the cut on the Disney-owned network. After six seasons, the Tim Allen-starring sitcom was cancelled in 2017 despite solid ratings, with ABC explaining it was down to a "scheduling decision."

The actor mobilised the fanbase in response, which quickly got to work doing what fan groups of cancelled shows do best: badgering networks and causing a racket until an executive sees the potential in the series' return.

In the end, that's exactly what happened, with Last Man Standing moving from ABC to Fox following its sixth season, and it seems to have found a steady home. Its third season on the channel (and ninth overall) was recently confirmed by the network, with the sitcom returning in 2021.
