10 TV Shows That Kickstarter Should Help Revive As Films

8. Pushing Daisies (2007-2009)

annafrielThe TV Show: Pushing Daisies was a unique hour-long dramedy with an incredible visual palette and style all its own. The story followed Ned, a pie-maker with the mystifying ability to reanimate dead people with a touch of his hand, and the colorful personalities that surround him. It made life-long fans and warmed critics' hearts with its storybook style, rich characters, and pure magic. Low ratings, however, were enough to dampen that magic and get the show cancelled after just two short seasons. The Film: Show creator Bryan Fuller has hinted at various incarnations of the further adventures of Ned, Chuck, Emerson, and the rest of the gang--everything from a short mini-series run on Starz to a Broadway musical. Yes, a Broadway musical. But a feature film adaptation would absolutely be the best way to revive Pushing Daisies and its unique and utterly charming visual style. And Kickstarter might make that decision for studios a piece of cake. Or, rather, pie.
