10 TV Shows To Binge During A Sick Day

Though it wouldn’t seem obvious that a medical drama could be soothing sick-day fare, ER proves that tense drama is just as comforting as laugh-track fluff. The confidence and skill of the actors portraying the main characters on this show helped to create a highly watchable series about what we wish all those in the medical profession were actually like.

Despite cliff-hangers and continuing plotlines, you could pretty much jump in during any point of this show’s fifteen seasons. During your binge, you definitely want to catch some of the original cast: George Clooney, Anthony Edwards, Eriq La Salle, Noah Wyle and Julianna Margulies laid the groundwork for a future roster of impressive actors to make their way to Chicago’s County General Hospital.

Let the first season run for a bit, then make sure you watch a few of the later seasons with Mekhi Phifer, Parminder Nagra, Scott Grimes, and Maura Tierney. There was never a bad cast formulation and there was always a new trauma making its way into the ER and the lives of its staff. Blood and emotional trauma: just what the doctor ordered!
