The series follows Quentin Coldwater and his arrival at Brakebills University to train as a magician. He meets with an assortment of fellow trainee magicians who round out the show's colourful ensemble. It's especially important to have allies when it turns out Quentyn's beloved fantasy book series Fillory and Further is in fact real and a lot more sinister than expected.
The series is rooted in an ever-expanding, layered mythology with a fun, likeable cast of characters to explore it with. For fans of Once More, With Feeling, The Magicians also has multiple musical episodes. Its general humour and diverse array of perspectives keep it charming and engaging throughout.
